Abstract: This Master’s Thesis evaluates the integration of a gender perspective in the Master Plan for the Historic Center of Lima (PMCHL), a crucial technical and regulatory document for the territorial planning of this iconic area of the city. The research, positioned at the intersection of urbanism and feminism, examines how power and gender dynamics shape urban spaces and how these have been considered or overlooked in the planning of Lima’s historic center. Through a mixed-method approach that includes document analysis, surveys, and on-site observations, the study aims to identify existing gaps and propose improvements to promote more inclusive and equitable urban planning. Preliminary findings indicate that while the PMCHL addresses aspects of inclusion and diversity, the integration of a gender perspective is insufficient and not comprehensively incorporated into the proposed policies and projects.
