Abstract: | Chess is a game that generates lots of data and it has been studied multiple times; mainly, in projects about predicting chess moves or to help people with disabilities. However, there are not many researches that focus on the analysis of the social networks that are generated by the relationship between players; least of all when it comes to online chess games. For this reason, the main goal of this research is to study the online chess platform Chess.com as a social network, where the players are the nodes and the games played between them are the edges. This analysis will allow to generate an original dataset to validate some hypothesis, like that there are communities of content creators. Furthermore, this project facilitates the study of the most significant results through an interactive data visualization, allowing users to explore the identified communities and reach their own conclusions, which might inspire new projects. |
