Title: Bilingüisme i identitat a Iruñerria: Anàlisi de la situació sociolingüística de l'euskera a l'actualitat
Author: Ripoll Echeveste, Clara
Director: Llorca García, Cristina
Abstract: In this work we study the sociolinguistic situation of the Basque language in Iruñerria (Navarra) through previous studies about minoritized languages. We approach the relationship between bilingualism and identity, the process of linguistic substitution, the folklorization of a language and the future of a minoritized language in the current globalized world. For its realization, we resort to statistics collected on 2021 by Euskarabidea in the VII Encuesta Sociolingüística (Govern Basc, 2024) and to five personal interviews with five volunteers who live firsthand the situation of the language in Iruñerria. Finally, we propose a series of ideas for the revitalization of basque language in the area.
