Title: L’arquitectura de gènere; la Bauhaus i l’arquitectura moderna al cor d’Europa als anys 20 i 30 del segle XX.
Author: Arcarons Carranco, Judit
Tutor: Berger Mulattieri, Gonzalo
Abstract: The aim of this work is to place as a historical subject the modern female architects, who based on the architectural guidelines of the Bauhaus, were able to produce another type of housing and modified the concept of home. For the first time, housing was adapted to the needs of women. What we know today as gender-coded housing has its origin in some proposals by female architects of the interwar period in central Europe; guarantee adequate space for care tasks, adapt and mitigate climate change or increase the perception of security. Starting from de-hierarchy and increasing the adaptability of households with specific measures, a path was started that has not yet reached the end.
