Title: Comunicacions peer-to-peer entre vehicles i/o vehicles i estacions fixes

Abstract: One of the characteristics of modern society is the growing nomber of cars which ganerates the challenges of improving road safety and optimizing traffic flows. It is true that improvements in terms of passive safety in the current design of cars has improved substantially in recent years, but in general terms, they have a limited scope focused in the vehicle itself, that means that the scope of this information collected is limited to what can be gathered only from the sensor network's own car. The answer to this limitation is due to the establishment of communication networks between each vehicle and infrastructure, for which the information collected for each individual vehicle now is available to the rest of vehicles, which is likely to be useful in order to prevent accidents, avoid traffic jams or send information services. This type of networks is called VANET (Vehicular Ad-hoc NETworks), which ar part of IoT paradigm, are subject of theorical analysis of the main elements that make up the characteristics of the environment, applications, challenges to overcome, the possible alternative protocols, the layers that make up, the routing management, the major existing standards, etc. The theorical analysis is supplemented by an example of simulation, based on open source software, where the main concepts explained in the first part of the present work are applied.
