Abstract: | As the peace process moves along in Colombia, how will justice be vetted out for the millions of internally displaced people? How will Colombian society develop a durable peace, and can this start from the bottom-up? Agreement 5 of the recent Havana Peace Accords suggests reintegration as the best option for going forward. But institutions such as the UNHCR argue that this option is not desirable or even feasible for most displaced people. Since the end of the cold war many policies implemented in post-conflict societies have been overwhelmingly neoliberal, and do not often leave positive effects for the most vulnerable populations. To find a way forward this paper will recommend a critical public pedagogy of displacement based around a scholar-ACTIVIST corrected method of sociological intervention. This project has recommended specific action for future implementation. |
