Abstract: | The main purpose of this master's degree project has been to implement all the existing processes in a Business Intelligence system. This project, based on the data obtained in the study of the levels of LDL cholesterol in different patients, has facilitated a setting for the decision making in business environment. The context has been a study where patients have been following a type of treatment. This treatment has been recorded together with among other personal variables like the diet or lifestyle. The information obtained in this study has been the starting point, and it has been exploited with a set of BI Open Source tools called Pentaho. The methodology used, although inherent to the programming environments, has allowed adapting the pace of work and the changing situation, especially in relation to the scheduled planning. The result has been a detailed study of the different variables that may influence in the variation of the levels of LDL cholesterol in a patient. Concluding that the main variable has been the treatment but that it has also been dependent on other factors such as diet that also affect its effectiveness. |
