Abstract: | Cardiovascular diseases are found in the head in terms of cause of death, where ischemic heart disease in our country is represented by 75%. When a person suffers a coronary event, secondary prevention programs, in this case cardiac rehabilitation, apply the necessary measures to control cardiovascular risk factors, decrease mortality and the risk of presenting a new coronary event, in turn obtaining a improvement in the quality of life and a social and labor reincorporation in most of the patients. Although there are numerous studies that demonstrate the benefits of cardiac rehabilitation, in Spain the percentage of patients who attend a program is very low (2-3%). The performance of a multidisciplinary team is fundamental for the cardiac rehabilitation program to be efficient, where its fundamental pillars are the education of the patient and the family. With this intervention, we try to ensure that the patient with ischemic heart disease reduces cardiovascular risk factors by undertaking controlled and programmed physical activity, acquiring healthy lifestyles so that he or she can occupy a normal place in society through his or her own means. |
