|MOXELL, aplicación web para la integración de datos multi-ómicos de experimentos single-cell

|In recent years, advances in sequencing techniques have led to the possibility of extracting gene expression data (RNA-seq) and accessibility of chromatin data (ATAC-seq) from the same cell (single-cell). Due to the heterogeneity of the cell populations, obtaining epigenetic and gene expression data in the same cell allows the study of intracellular mechanisms with much more precision. This has led to the expansion of the use of techniques called single-cell and, therefore, the need of developing tools to allow the visualization and exploration of multi-omic data obtained through these types of experiments. For this reason, this paper describes the development of an application called MOXELL that, taking RNA-seq and ATAC-seq data from single-cell experiments, decreases the dimensionality of the data, classifies them (clustering) and allows the visualization of the results in a dynamic and interactive way. The data processing pipelines of the application were made using the programming language called R and, for the development of these, datasets from Gene Expression Omnibus database were used. On the other hand, the Shiny library was used to design the application interface. After the pipelines integration with the interface, the application shows a correct functioning of the implemented activities. However, it is intended to continue its development beyond this work, to add more functionalities and offer to the scientific community a useful and comprehensive tool.
