Abstract: Satellite positioning systems have become increasingly important in recent decades, currently being a tool that we use daily and even providing features that can lead to the advancement of technology in other areas, such as the temporary reference Exact for synchronization in low latency networks such as the budding 5G. Whatever use you want to give them, accuracy in obtaining the data is imperative. In this context, the countries of the world have focused their efforts on having their own independent GPS system, in order to ensure the integrity of the service in any situation. This document aims to give a global vision of the most relevant positioning systems of today, what has been its history and what state is its development and how they work, focusing on the services they provide and the signals they send for it . It will be detailed, for GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS and IRNSS, the frequency bands in which they operate, what signals they send in each band, how these signals are generated and what codes they use.
