Abstract: Obesity is considered a chronic metabolic disease. Together with overweight, they represent a true public health problem that affects 53% of the adult population in Spain. Specifically, 36% are above their weight and 17% have obesity. Treatment requires favorable changes in food and lifestyle, maintained over time. The high prevalence of this disease and the difficulty involved in its treatment contribute to the proliferation of "miracle" diets and other procedures, of unchecked efficacy, which promise rapid and effortless weight loss. Nowadays, many people with obesity or overweight who choose to perform dermoesthetic treatments with or without oral supplementation, reach their targets with minimal or null modification of their eating habits. In this qualitative study, we will conduct a comparison between two widely used methods today. We will contrast a dermoesthetic method with one focused on achieving proper eating habits and a healthy lifestyle of the participants.
