Abstract: This research investigates the membership and effectiveness of video games as digital resources in the framework of a clinical treatment in schizophrenia. The objectives of determining whether video games can produce improvements in the negative symptomatology of psychotic disorders and demarcate what symptomatology specifically infers, hypothesize that a clinically meaningful improvement can be achieved in terms of self-esteem, operational memory, selective attention, concentration and planning tasks through cognitive training as a result of your exposure. 20 participants are selected through a non-probabilistic sampling process for convenience assigned to the FPMR and a pre-post evaluation procedure is carried out to evaluate the cognitive functions before and after the digital intervention by exposure to the selected digital software (the Machinarium video games and the Sims 4) with an established program of 18 hours of cognitive training per participant over the six months duration stipulated in the project chronology. The intervention is expected to reflect a clinically significant improvement in the above-mentioned constructs, which must be validated through a comparison between the results obtained before and after the application of the latter and that reflect a substantial improvement in the cognitive functions of the target. The main limitations with which the study counts turn the limited empirical investigation carried out to the present time around the subject, which forces to constitute the investigation based on a cross-sectional symbiosis of the dispersed scientific contributions, as well as the stigmatization to the which are currently undergoing video games from the social dimension.
