Title: Factores no docentes que influyen en la satisfacción del estudiante con el profesorado de la Universidad de Extremadura

Abstract: The evaluation of students at the University of Extremadura is carried out by means of a questionnaire, where different teaching aspects of the teacher are evaluated and constitutes a fundamental evidence to achieve the different levels established in the DOCENTIA-UEx Programme. In fact, according to the scale, even if a teacher has the maximum of the other dimensions evaluated, the score given by the students becomes a key factor, a 'key', for the access to the different levels of the Program. The results obtained from the analysis of the available information indicate that there are non-teaching factors that influence student satisfaction: related to the characteristics of the teacher (his/her age, dedication and field of knowledge), of the course (branch of teaching, type of study, type of subject and course taught) and of the group of students (the number of students enrolled). The main conclusion is that the DOCENTIA-UEx Programme should be modified so that student assessment does not become the 'key' to access to the different levels of the Programme. Thus, the specific weight of student opinion would not be so preponderant in the final result of teacher evaluation. Once the problems detected in this work have been solved, the Program could be modified again, taking up again the influence that the students have, but this time without those non-teaching factors that affect their satisfaction with the teacher's performance but that the teacher has no possibility of changing.
