Abstract: The goal of this present Master final work is to analyse the current occupational situation of people with limited intelligence living in Catalonia. Throughout the history of humankind, societies have come to certain default settings of what is considered normal, rejecting any person who does not fit in those criteria. People with limited intelligence are part of the intellectual disability community, and due to their characteristics and differences they have been excluded from the public sphere. Nowadays, standards imaginary boundaries are gradually fading, but how far are we from a real social inclusion? Through a qualitative research using interviews and documentary analysis, some conclusions have been drawn. The main results show that a huge advance has been made but at the same time there is still a lack of awareness from society and enterprises. The principal factors that have made possible this advance and have promoted this inclusive progress are social and educational policies, allowing an integral development of limit intelligence people and promoting a more inclusive society.
