Title: El rol de la memoria de trabajo sobre la comprensión lectora en estudiantes de Educación Primaria
Author: Cremades Gallego, Olga
Tutor: García Ortiz, Beatriz
Abstract: This research study involves 6 fourth-year primary education students from a school. The school is located in a municipality in the south of the province of Alicante, where the socio-economic and cultural level of the families is medium-high and the linguistic environment is dominated by Spanish as the first language. Likewise, of these 6 students, 3 are girls and 3 are boys with ages between 9-10 years old. These ages are considered, by various authors such as Defior, Justicia and Martos (1988), to be really important within the process of learning to read, as students at this time have already acquired the basics of reading and are moving on to a level of greater comprehension of texts. However, another of the variables to be highlighted in this study is the specific needs for educational support. The sample of 6 students includes 3 who do not show reading comprehension difficulties and 3 (two boys and a girl) who do show some learning difficulties, specifically in reading comprehension, without presenting specific prior associated disorders.
