Abstract: | The aim of this project is to create a website related to the affiliation marketing in the video games world. The main idea is to monetize the different products that are recommended in the web, in this case, video games. To get started the project has been tried to satisfy the needs of the society of immediacy in which we live (today everything is immediate and new things continually come up to us, or they change very fast) and which loves gaming industry (industry that in 2019 achieved a total turnover of 133,670 million euros, according to Newzoo estimations, the most reliable source in the world for gaming analysis and market research). These needs are: to be able to access clear, concise and quality information, and to be able to make the purchase of the product immediately if it likes. Therefore, the website allows the user to access the video games that are recommended (quality information) through the home page (immediate information) where, for each video game, a button with an "Amazon" look and feel is displayed and redirects the user to the Amazon product in question (immediate purchase). In order to maximize monetization, a backend that scrapes metacritic has been created and extracts data of the most relevant video games. This data is presented to the user through a modern and attractive website, which provides access to a ranking of the 100 best video games of all times for several electronic entertainment platforms. The idea is the web becomes viral across the internet using a good SEO positioning strategy and reaches the top positions of google searches. The more traffic is generated, the more users will buy video games through the various affiliate links on the web, and the easier it will be to achieve the main goal of the project: to generate passive income using Amazon's affiliate marketing program in the world of video games. |
