Abstract: The "Doctrina moral" is a compilation of authority sentences, written by a man from Mallorca during the first third of the 15th century or shortly after. It is a doctrine that can be inserted within the framework of medieval encyclopedism and that presents more than three hundred and seventy citations of outstanding authors, especially of Biblical, Greco-Latin and patristic origin. In addition, towards the end of the text, it includes several episodes dedicated to describing the ages of the world and other historiographic episodes. In this study, we focus on these passages to try to establish intertextual connections with other medieval works, written in Latin and Catalan. In fact, one of the main objectives of the work is to try to establish whether it draws mainly from universal chronicles, from the great Latin compilations of the 13th-14th centuries, this is from the works of John of Salisbury, John of Wales, Vicent of Beauvais, etc., or Catalan translations and compilations that were already proliferating at the beginning of the 15th century. And, in turn, we also wonder if other works in Catalan from the 15th century can be related in some way to the historiographical passages of the "Doctrina".
