Abstract: This master's final project shows the process of creating two machine translation engines, one statistical and the other neural, specialized in the field of aviation, using the freely available tool MTUOC. All the steps involved in the process are explained in detail: choice of texts, compilation of the corpus, corpus processing, training of the translation engines, use of the engines and a final evaluation. This final evaluation compares the results of the translation engine trained in this work with those proposed by the widely used machine translators Google Translate (as a representation of neural machine translation) and Yandex Translate (as a representation of statistical-neural hybrid machine translation). In this way, the aim is to test whether it is convenient to train specialized machine translation engines to improve the terminological quality of general-purpose machine translators.
