Title: Metastasio a Menorca. Estudi i edició crítica de la traducció d'Aquil·les de Vicenç Albertí i Vidal

Abstract: Vicenç Albertí i Vidal was a writer, translator and intellectual between 18th and 19th century. He was part of the Minorcan illustrated group together with Pere and Joan Ramis i Ramis and Antoni Febrer i Cardona. Abertí devoted time and effort to disseminate European literatures works in the island of Minorca. He translated about sixty theatre plays from English, French, Spanish and Italian to the Catalan Language by various autors such as Beaumarchais, Molière, Franández de Moratín, Goldoni or Metastasio. He work on three Metastasios crations, Demofoonte, Siroe and Achilles, all three unedited until today. This paper offers for the first time editing of the Achilles translation. On the basis of the text and the authors context, we have intended to contribute to the study of modern Catalan literature.
