Abstract: This thesis analyzes a structural model that links satisfaction, the way an educational video is made, the type of video (showing the teacher's hands or not and showing the teacher's head/body or not), the perceived usefulness, the content of the video (theory or problems) and the potential impact on passing particularly complex courses, such as university-level Physics courses, and particularly during the first year of the degree. The research also studied the real use students made of the videos provided to help achieve the learning objectives, using a plug-in to collect interaction data. Experiments were carried out with more than 1,000 students on the Introduction to Engineering Physics courses at two different universities: the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), an entirely online university, and Escola Universitària Salesiana de Sarrià (EUSS), an on-campus university.
