Title: El professorat, preparat per a l'educació emocional a les aules? Anàlisi de l'estat emocional i de la formació del professorat en matèria d'educació emocional

Abstract: Nowadays people are starting to give the necessary importance to children's emotional education from a very young age and this responsibility falls mostly into the teachers who work in child care, school and high school. But are the educators emotionally and professionally ready to fulfill this task? Having the aim to analyze to which extent the teachers from Pre-School, Primary and Secondary School are emotionally ready to put into practice an emotional education of a certain quality in the classroom, a descriptive quantitative ex-post-facto study has been transversely conducted through surveys targeting 68 instructors from these educational institutions. In the surveys, elaborated adhoc, there are multiple choice questions of scale Likert, an adaptation from Emily Sterrett's emotional intelligence test and an adaptation of Maslach Burnout Inventory for teachers. On one hand, the results show that the professorate knows the importance of talking about the emotions in class, but they still have not got any practical formation in this matter. On the other hand, there is some lacking in self-confidence, autoregulation and self-awareness that can be sensed, apart from an elevated emotional tiredness felt by the teachers, specially in those related to Secondary education. In light of these results, the importance of taking care and to continue to educate the professorate is highlighted in order to reach an emotional wellbeing state in which they can work to improve their emotional competences and the wellbeing of both infants and teenagers.
