Title: La industria cinematográfica como herramienta de promoción aplicada al turismo. El caso de Canarias

Abstract: The evolution of the cinema and the influence it has on the audience has converted the seventh art in a mass media capable of influencing the buying tendencies of its audience. This influence has been detected within the turistic industry and it has been studied by numorous authors. It has born this way the new concept "Film- Induced Tourism". Concept used to refer to the tourism that travels to look for the place where the film has been recorded. It becomes clear to us the power of the image on the big screen highlighting the existing links that has existed between both insdustries since its origins: the touristic and the cinematographic. This work aims to delve into the destinations that takes advantage of the Cinema as a turism attraction and apply it to the case of Canary Islands.
