Abstract: The project consists of carrying out a research study on proximity sensors, we focus on the description of all available technologies, review the operating principles and explaining in which environments their use would be optimal. The technologies that are studied are the following. Also describes the different types of wiring and output signals that can be used in each of the sensors. In the conclusion, it is explained which technology preferred use with each of the sensors, and what types of sensors may be most useful for the operation of a mobile robot.
