Abstract: In this work the development of an autonomous robot is explained, which moves around a closed space avoiding collisions with the enclosure and obstacles. Besides, while moving, measures the signal strength RSSI from all the existing Wifi networks in the area. This measurements, are sent afterwards to a Web server based on Apache + PHP where exists a data base (DB) in MySQL to store the information. Afterwards, that information can be accessible from any device with access to the Web server. The main application for this device is to audit networks in big enclosed areas, such airports or malls. Thus, the access points locations can be optimized as well as locating dead spots for the network coverage in order to improve it. At the first stage the hardware was designed and assembled, and the connections and protocols defined, as well as programming the sensors and main movement rules. Afterwards, a Web server was configured, a DB created and the communicating scripts programmed. Finally, the programming was focused on communications between the robot and the server, the visualization of the DB content and the improvement of the moving algorithm. The development of this project has allowed the evaluation of a possible commercial product and it could serve as the origin for a big scale development.
