Abstract: Spain is a world leader in organ donation. However, the waiting list for SOT (solid organ transplant) is increasing along with the age of the population. Knowing the factors derived from age or associated diseases in organ donors that can influence the results of transplantation and the morbidity and survival of recipients is of great importance when deciding which organ may be of greater utility and for what receiver on the waiting list. The main objective of this project is to design and implement a Business Intelligence (BI) system that facilitates the acquisition, storage and exploitation of data associated with donors and recipients of SOT. To do this, following the premises of Kimball's life cycle for the development of Business Intelligence systems and making use of the Kanban agile methodology, a data warehouse has been designed and implemented to store the information acquired from donors and recipients. This Data Warehouse is powered by data previously transformed by a series of ETL processes (extraction, transformation and loading) that have also been implemented. Finally, a BI application has been developed that offers several control panels that respond to the analytical requirements defined with the end user taking into account their usability to exploit and analyze the information. In conclusion we have obtained a BI system that allows us to analyze the influence of donor factors on the survival and quality of life of the recipient to help decision-making.
