Abstract: To evaluate the screening of colorectal cancer (CRC) in medium risk population (with no symptoms previously reported) between the ages of 50 and 69 years with data obtained in the Department of Pathology of University Hospital Dr. Peset. Colorectal cancer is the second cause of death in Spain and colorectal adenomas constitute one type of characteristic premalignant lesion in the development of colorectal cancer. The implementation of prevention programs in asymptomatic population is necessary for the early detection of adenomatous polyps and it is based on screening strategies such as the determination of occult blood in feces or invasive tests. A series of 374 consultations (endoscopies/visits) from 270 patients between the ages of 31 and 75 years, who had positive results for inmmunologic fecal occult blood test (FOBT) and colonoscopy (with at least one polyp biopsied), has been studied. Univariate, bivariate analysis and logistic regression were performed.
