Abstract: Food is a very important aspect regarding people's health. The working environment may be adequate to carry out health promotion programs in general, and the promotion of healthy eating habits in particular. Having a canteen in the company can help the development of healthy eating habits. Under these premises, an intervention design was carried out at the factory of Henkel Ibérica in Montornés del Vallés, with the main objectives of making workers aware of the importance of carrying out a healthy diet and reducing the overweight rate. The program consisted of changes in the menu according to the principles of a healthy balanced diet, the assignment of two healthy menu options, the establishment of a monthly products lottery system and a six-monthly special award for people who follow the program, all supported with a communication campaign. As a previous phase to this design, a basic training in healthy eating habits was developed. The preliminary results show a good acceptance of the initiatives carried out by the employees. The effects of this intervention design on the reduction of overweight should be valued in the long term.
