Abstract: "Game Over: climate change" is a degree final project which consist of create and produce an innovative 2D animation work for virtual reality environments. The subject matter of the work is our current earth's climate crisis. This audiovisual explores the limits and coexistence of 2D animation within a virtual environment, as part of visual communication campaigns in a functional, aesthetic and expression levels. This animation production combines the formal graphic characteristics of 2D elements (both, static and movement), three-dimensional immersive spaces, audio, digital composition, illustration and photography media in mixed ways. Moreover, the project includes research about the creative and functional possibilities of virtual reality environments and their connection with 2D animation media. This process allows studying and set up workflows based on both. The outcome reveals a new aesthetic language and a new expression matter, defined by particular graphic appearances suitable for communicate advertising messages or visual communication campaigns through online content platforms which support VR technologies.
