Abstract: The following study aims to address the communicative needs of music festivals through social platforms. The research begins with a literature review of various studies that have been published about music festivals and social media in order to provide a current overview. Then, from a point of view of event production as a tool for public relations and corporate communication, the study analyze the intentionality and characteristics of Facebook messages that are published before, during and after the production process of BBK Live. The results have shown the differentiation and the intentionality of the messages in social media during the three stages of music festival production. In addition, it has been observed that BBK Live uses Facebook as a channel to build a virtual community and a music festival brand. The study also has limitations, and therefore, future researches could perform larger samples or a comparative analysis of different editions or different music festivals.
