Abstract: Active tourism together with livestock are currently two of the main economic drivers in the mountain regions of Catalonia. After almost forty years since the opening of the first active tourism company, studies based exclusively in this sector are practically non-existent. This work is surely the first to investigate specifically those aspects which can contribute to the satisfaction and desire of users in the active tourism sector. The study concludes that the knowledge and attitude of the guide are the most important aspects, in the assessment of two feelings; satisfaction and desire. Parallel to the main goal, there is a hypothesis proposed, used to verify the relationship between the variables that determine satisfaction and desire. Where it is highlighted there are 5 variables that affect the two feelings in the same way: "facilities", "equipment", "accessories", "after sales" service and "activity". It is thus determined that guides are one of the most valuable assets in the framework of active tourism companies.
