Abstract: | At the time of carrying out this work, Spain is the country that occupies the second place in the list of infected by the COVID-19 outbreak, caused by the novel SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus disease. For this reason, the state government has decided to implement social distancing through a mandatory quarantine as a measure to slow down the spread of the pandemic. Specifically, the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country has applied the state of alarm since March 14, 2020. According to experts, this provision could cause serious consequences on the physical and mental health of citizens; which in turn could lead to difficulties in re-relating. During the shutdown, face-to-face events have been quashed, but their virtual formats have taken on special relevance; since they are serving not only to entertain but also to make people feel part of a whole and mitigate loneliness. After finishing the confinement and facing the need to re-establish a new normality, events can be a key element due to their undoubted ability to create spaces for social interaction. For this reason, the following work consists in preparing the Communication Plan for an event that will help Basque citizens to re-socialize under the new health parameters; and once the success of this initiative is demonstrated, other communities may replicate it. |
