Abstract: The purpose of this project is to find a potential way to help people suffering from depressive mental disorders with the self-management of their symptoms, enabling an interactive, creative and communicative system through the design of a technological application that can cover some of the basic needs of people with this profile in their daily lives and in their personal contexts. To achieve this, the project has been developed from the principles and methodologies of people-centered design: Research has been carried out taking into account the target users at all stages of design. Finally, it has been possible to obtain the design of a mobile application that combines two basic functionalities: the video game as a method of dispersion, and the online social community as a space for contact with other users with similar problems. However, the project focuses exclusively on the definition of the community environment, where the user requirements extracted during the research can be applied in different interactive functionalities. As a result of the project, valuable information has been obtained on the mental health scenery and its little-explored relationship with technology, on the behaviors and contexts of people with mental disorders and on the possibility of innovation and support that these concepts could generate in the hands of designers. The designed application is a mere prototype, but it can open paths to new possibilities.
