Abstract: In Crohn's disease (CD), the presence of depressive and anxious symptoms are manifested in higher levels, influencing production and exacerbation of gastrointestinal symptoms, increasing the risk to their health and worsening their quality of life. However, most studies have focused on the etiopathogenic and pathophysiological aspects to the detriment psychosocial and psychological components of these patients. From the hypothesis that the depressive mood and anxiety levels of adult patients with Crohn in active phase improve after receiving a music therapy intervention, the aim is to analyze this type of group therapy using mixed techniques to observe their impact on these disorders and compare these effects with the results obtained with a control group. To this aim, the Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II), the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and the Harvey-Bradshaw index (HBI) will be applied to both groups. The results will be analyzed from the contrast for two averages in independent samples and repeated measures analysis of variance (RM ANOVA). The aim is to check the adequacy of music therapy as an emotional and psychosocial approach, and as a complement to the pharmacological therapy, to reduce the depressive mood and anxiety levels of people with Crohn's disease. Considering the lack of studies and bibliography that exists related to this study and lack adherence to treatment, we expect to advance in the study of other non-pharmacological therapeutic options to reduce the negative influence that exert the affective disorders in this disease.
