Abstract: The coronary heart disease (CHD) is the first cause of death worldwide. The WHO foresees that more than the 80% of these deaths are avoidable adopting a healthy lifestyle. The preventive factors are very clear, but the protocols of rehabilitation after an acute coronary syndrome (ACS) are quite different between cardiology services, as well as the recommendations, which are too general. Objectives. To review the scientific literature about the rehabilitation of the ACS, and after that, to propose an intervention protocol of rehabilitation through the physical activity and the nutrition. From the main search we obtained 71 articles. Only 19 were included for the development of our review. The best results on the reduction of the cardiovascular risk factors and the recidivism and mortality of cardiovascular events were achieved when endurance and resistance training were combined. For the nutrition, the Mediterranean Diet is the most studied pattern, demonstrating the best results on the rehabilitation of the ACS.
