Abstract: | The rise of electric vehicles for personal mobility (PMV) and their social relevance is evident today, presenting itself as one of the viable solutions to urban transport in large cities. Regardless of its nature, the operating principles and geometry of the current electric motors used for its propulsion, all present the same deficiency. This is the overheating under stress conditions such as, for example, a high ambient temperature or a prolonged period of activity. The main cause is the lack of cooling systems. Therefore, using a multiphysics simulator for fluid-solid heat transfer, it is desired to propose an efficient model cooling system as well as characterize the resulting heat flow. It will be based on the incorporation of a dielectric oil that will accelerate the cooling of the metal cover of the motor. Taking into account the high computational requirements of the fluidomechanical problem to be solved, parallel calculation based on multicore CPUs will be used to solve the Navier-Stokes equations for the fluid phase and the heat conduction equation in solid elements. |
