Title: Aplicacions de LoRaWAN en xarxes IoT
Author: Maroto Mirón, Cintia
Tutor: Adelantado, Ferran
Abstract: The current and constant evolution of the internet has generated different technologies to carry out the connectivity of different devices in different scenes. In this way, low-power wide area networks (LPWANs) have been created to allow long-range wireless connections with low data transmissions and high battery life of devices that are part of it. Within non-cellular LPWAN technologies, the leaders in this field are LoRaWAN, Sigfox and Weightless, competing for IoT global development. This project provides an in-depth analysis of LoRaWAN technology and its features, device classes, different parameters and use cases, as well as a comparison with other technologies and a summary of their advantages and disadvantages. Finally, scenario simulations with different features are performed in the OMNeT ++ program and using the FLoRa framework by modifying the number of nodes, the area, diversity of services and other aspects in order to evaluate the desired IoT requirements.
