Abstract: | The concept of emotional intelligence has been gaining ground in recent years, becoming an approach to psychology used in various fields, including work. On the other hand, the nature of occupational risks has evolved towards the predominance of psychosocial risks, such as stress, harassment or difficulty in reconciling work and family. Evidence shows that the practice of emotional intelligence in organizations can help in the regulation of psychosocial risks at work, however, their prevalence continues to increase. In this way, in this research we have proposed to measure and analyze the knowledge and perception of the people responsible for reducing these risks in a company, being these responsible for HR, PRL and CEOs, about emotional intelligence as a regulator of psychosocial risks at work, since, if a practice is not perceived in a positive way, it will not be applied, despite its effectiveness. The results that we have obtained when supplying an online questionnaire to a sample of 101 individuals indicate that there is still a lack of knowledge about emotionally intelligent practices and their benefits in occupational health (40%), that there are emotionally intelligent practices that are highly perceived and others are not. so much and that those responsible for HR, PRL and CEOs consider emotionally intelligent practices effective for reducing risks such as stress but not so much for the prevention of risks such as workplace bullying. On the other hand, the main conclusions show that perhaps these practices claim to be perceived correctly but are not really applied for the modulation of psychosocial risks. |
