Abstract: Over the last decades, one of the most relevant areas of social research has been equal opportunities in access, permanence and promotion in the labour market. Lifelong learning, guidance and intervention have become essential, cause the transformations experienced in employment and job have not meant the elimination of labour inequalities, but rather their change. Those in a situation of inequality and discrimination are more vulnerable in social and labour terms. The situation of discrimination experienced by women is one of the concerns that has led to the implementation of legislative measures by the political powers. The Organic Law for the effective equality of men and women is a legislative reference. It became useful for a new regulatory framework that guarantee equal opportunities and not discrimination by reason of gender. In this labour setting, gender diversity is proposed as a strategy to apply the equal of opportunities between men and women in the labour market. It is proposed as a guideline for optimising the human resources, improving the quality of the organisations and the usefulness of knowledge¿s management. Applying a system of knowledge management is possible improve contribute the organisational culture, improving the qualification and employability of its staff and proposing specific actions for overcoming obstacles to women's careers. Even so there are so many organisations that no set up an equal opportunities programme and a management model by competencies. So there are many difficulties in applying equal opportunities. Therefore, through this research, we intend to analyse the interrelationship between professional qualification and knowledge management as a means of improving professional abilities and set up an equal opportunities programme.
