Title: La síndrome de Diògenes contra Diògenes de Sinope: la construcció d'una tergiversació
Author: Marí Escanellas, Jorge
Tutor: Mayos, Gonçal
Abstract: This paper describes the process of the development and diffusion of the term Diogenes Syndrome and it posits the conduct associated with this pathology as contrary to the conduct and actions of the Cynic philosopher Diogenes of Sinope. This study intends to show how this identification of the philosopher with the pathology is a misrepresentation of the ethical pedagogy espoused in the 4th century BCE by Diogenes, whose teachings were characterized by a thorough criticism of the prevailing values in Greek society.
