Title: Economia circular i la indústria tèxtil

Abstract: The purposes of this Final Degree Project are, first of all, to lay bare that climate change and overuse of resources have, not only, environmental but also economic consequences. In a world where mankind habitat is collapsing, everything collapses. And so then, the main objective is to expose the importance of the circular economy as a new economic paradigm where economic growth within a sustainable system; and, at the same time, how essential is to achieve the climate goals signed in the Paris Agreement, the 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); then, analyse if in one of the most polluting sectors, such as the textile industry, measures focused on the Circular Economy are being implemented and, finally, if these measures - in that case - are appropriate. Economia Circular i la Indústria Tèxtil To carry it out, the work is divided into four well-differentiated parts. The first part will be a brief situational analysis in which the current global situation will be presented, focusing on the environment mainly and, at the same time, the different sustainability proposals will be discussed. The second part will introduce and develop the concept of Circular Economy. The third part will analyse the textile industry and its social and environmental implications. The fourth and final part analyse if the fashion sector is incorporating the Circular Economy into its economic cycle and, if so, to what degree. Finally, in the conclusions section is where I will explain if the measures applied on the textile sector are enough, appropriate and, if necessary, I will add comments of possible improvements from my point of view and, once the diagnosis is made, try make a forecast on the success of the Circular Economy in achieving the aforementioned climate goals.
