Title: Diseño de una app que incentive la adherencia al tratamiento de jóvenes con deformidades espinales

Abstract: Spinal deformities such as scoliosis and hyperkyphosis are common pathologies in adolescents, usually diagnosed in the average age of 12 to 16 years. The effects of living with these diagnoses can become mere side effects such as pain, aesthetic signs, associated gastrointestinal syndromes, etc., until reaching disability or even putting the lives of those who carry them at risk, assuming a great cost of care in addition to psychological and social impact. It was long believed that surgery was the only alternative to address these diagnoses, however, it is currently known that there is a non-surgical alternative for the treatment of mild to moderate scoliosis, which can be considered a great option to reduce the lists waiting for surgery or for those who cannot afford it; however, conservative treatment requires great discipline and adherence to treatment, which is usually a problem to highlight due to various factors. MHealth has proven to be a tool widely used and used by young people and adolescents, specifically in the field of well-being and physical activity. For this reason, the proposal was born to co-create an application that encourages adherence to conservative treatment, thus contributing to improve the treatment of patients, the impact at the health, economic and social level in a sustainable way, based on the foundations of Valued Based Health care (VBHC).
