Abstract: Skin cancer is one of the most frequently diagnosed preventable tumors in the world with a significant impact on mortality and morbidity related to sun exposure and delay in diagnosis. 80% of sun damage occurs in children under 18 years of age, so prevention campaigns at an early age would help prevent the effects of the sun. The combination of innovative technologies and gamification elements could provide educators of groups of young people with tools to promote behaviors beneficial to health in this area. The objective of this study is to propose the design of a digital intervention that serves to promote education, prevention, and awareness campaigns about skin cancer in children and adolescents. The analysis of the current situation on skin cancer prevention campaigns in Spain and the use of digital tools in prevention activities in groups under 18 years of age has helped to define the basic characteristics of the digital solution. The proposal has been completed with a review of the main opportunities and threats, the basic ethical-legal considerations, and a set of evaluation indicators for future analysis. In conclusion, a digital solution of these characteristics would facilitate the dissemination of specific knowledge on photoprotection and skin cancer to groups of children and adolescents, with a potential profound impact on quality of life and health in the population.
