Abstract: Patients with chronic diseases, especially the elderly, have a challenge when taking medication, such as integrating the schedule of doses into daily life, interpreting side effects and monitoring the results. A tool that adapts to the needs of the patient is necessary and one of the possibilities is the use of mobile applications as a support for the management of medication. This review aims to analyze the existing evidence on the efficacy of the use of mobile applications developed for the management of medication, in improving adherence to treatment, in polymedicated patients or with any chronic pathology in the general population, and especially in adults over 65 years of age.
