Abstract: Teachers or professors are considered a risk group for the manifestation of burnout symptoms. There are certain elements that are related to the appearance of the syndrome and that can be a key element in its prevention and treatment, among which the quality of work life perceived by the worker stands out. On the other hand, as a result of the recent arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic, most teachers have been forced to teach online, which can have repercussions on the feeling of burnout. Therefore, the main objective of this research project is to diagnose and identify burnout syndrome, and to relate it to the perceived quality of work life of 45 extracurricular English language teachers for children, belonging to different Kids&Us centers throughout Spain, to whom a questionnaire was applied to assess burnout, quality of work life and, in addition, a questionnaire to analyze the influence of online teaching on burnout syndrome or perceived burnout. The results obtained show that there is an inverse relationship between burnout syndrome and quality of work life, and teachers report that online teaching has increased perceived burnout, but there is no difference in burnout levels between those teachers who have at some point done online teaching and those who have not. Also, surprisingly, teachers report lower levels of burnout than expected. These results highlight the need for early and effective prevention and intervention focused on job characteristics to prevent and minimize the occurrence of burnout.
