Author: Elías Pineda, Natalia
Tutor: Verdet Peris, Isabel
Abstract: This research seeks to explore the cultural dimension of the right to the city in the context of a Latin American city, specifically in Metropolitan Lima. For this purpose, we used data on cultural spaces obtained from a collective mapping process carried out by a citizen project in the year 2021, which constitutes the most complete and updated database on the subject in the city of Lima. The research followed a quantitative methodology to analyze the data at a statistical and spatial level. In this sense, the research analyzes the characteristics of cultural spaces in dialogue with the theoretical approaches of the right to the city and cultural rights. Thus, it is possible to highlight urban inequalities in the city of Lima and the forms of production of cultural space at the local level as part of the dynamics of city production typical of Latin American contexts.
