Title: França en el període d'entreguerres (1930-1939)
Author: Vila Barrachina, Víctor
Tutor: Berger Mulattieri, Gonzalo
Abstract: This final BA thesis researches the French interwar period and asks whether the rapid downfall of France in the face of German attack, at the start of the Second World War, was due to disloyalty from a fraction of the army, along with societal disaffection with the regime. Through critical analysis of primary and secondary sources, the thesis examines the disaffection of French society from their government, along with the emergence of anti- democratic, anti-republican and anti-Semitic leagues as political alternatives. The thesis concludes by refuting the initial hypothesis, on the grounds that anti-government movements lacked support.
