Abstract: On this paper we are undertaking a user-centered design process for the Museum of History of Madrid's website. Our aim will be to improve the user experience when navigating the website; in order to achieve that, our first step will be a research phase, in which we will study the context, analyze the competence and extract the necessary information from the users so it can be converted into insights and suggestions for improvement. This will be followed by a definition and ideation phase, where the problem will be defined and a number of ideas for a product to solve said problem will be presented. Using the design, architecture and functions of the current website as a foundation we will then shape the improvements we gathered and defined in order to create a prototype which will integrate them into a new design. After the creation of the prototype on several scales of fidelity, the prototype is evaluated in order to find out design and usability errors. To do so, two tests are taken. A test with users, carefully designed and moderated; a heuristic evaluation, which served to evaluate the prototype's usability in accordance to a series of rules or heuristics. Finally, based on these results we iterate a prototype to create the final product.
