Abstract: Currently, the number of IoT (Internet of Things) devices is growing exponentially, becoming present in practically all areas. The number of services used by these devices is increasing at the same rate and, therefore, the useful life of their batteries is decreasing. In order to find a solution, it is essential to try to evolve these services, focusing efforts on making these devices equally effective, but with lower consumption. In this sense, this paper studies the use of CSS (Chirp Spread Spectrum) signals, together with LEO satellite constellations, to try to offer PNT (positioning, navigation and timing) services as an alternative to other systems such as GPS or Galileo. In this way, different features are analyzed, with special emphasis on the complexity of the receiver, as this will determine the amount of resources consumed by the device. Subsequently, an interface is elaborated, with the aim of being able to check how the designed configuration affects these features. Also, possible analysis cases are studied in order to implement the calculation of the bit error probability in a LoRa communication.
