Abstract: Students should opt to make use of a set of techniques and procedures to deal with each communicative situation successfully. In the writing process, learners activate different strategic actions which depend on both internal and external factors. These can also be taught and altered by virtue of strategy training. To ensure its efficiency, it must be integrated into the educational process and requires knowledge and planning on the part of the teaching staff. Hence, a didactic proposal based on strategic training for the improvement of written expression is presented. This aims at enhancing the strategic competence, autonomy, and responsibility of students in their third year of Compulsory Secondary Education. It consists of the planning of four sessions comprising the four phases of the writing process: pre-writing, writing, revision, and editing. In each session, students are trained on how to employ a specific strategy by means of the technological tool Padlet, which fosters collaborative learning.
