Abstract: The new regulations for Higher Education in Spain reinforce and empower the Quality Assurance Systems for Centers (SAIC) as a means of access to institutional accreditation, with prior certification of its implementation; an evaluation with scope in the centers on which the degree evaluation processes are based and which has the SAIC as its main instrument. This evaluation model implies an optimization of resources, but also grants greater autonomy and responsibility to the centers in the establishment and development of the culture of quality and the continuous improvement of their teaching. The present study addresses the (re)design, revision and improvement of the SAIC framework model of the University of La Laguna to achieve its certification, counting in turn with the commitment and collaboration of the the commitment and collaboration of stakeholders as a premise to ensure its sustainability over time. sustainability over time. For its development, several qualitative techniques for data collection and analysis have been used, such as the focus group and individual interviews. The results show the importance of the system and the need for continuous review and improvement, but also the complexity and existing limitations for stakeholder participation. It is concluded that the SAIC in its different phases must be the result of collaborative work. To this end, it is necessary to review actions and find formulas that can awaken the motivation for the participation of the different groups, whether it is the case of training, information and the appropriate incentives in terms of quality.
